I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year’s weekend festivities! My weekend was super low key, yet full of plenty of wine- just how I like them. My best friend and I had a rosé date on Friday night, which was so fun; I laugh, and cry.. and cry from laughing every time we are together.
I knew I wanted to have a low key NYE as well, so I completely neglected to make any plans this year. But last minute, I decided to drive down to La Jolla, where my parents were spending a couple of days. I’m super weird, (maybe even superstitious…) about certain things, and one of those has become New Years. As I was beginning to make plans for 2018, and realized that there is so much I want to accomplish, the thought of starting my year out with a gnarly hangover gave me faint anxiety. I feel like NYE has the opportunity to really set the tone for the year, and I’ve declared 2018 a year of productivity!
I do a lot of driving in my life, but it was so nice to spend some alone time with my coffee and music, knowing that a relaxing weekend (and not work) was awaiting me. My mom’s bff from high school (who I also love!) and her husband were staying at the same hotel, so it was extra nice to catch up and spend some time with them!
I found this dress (don’t mind the wrinkles from the drive. UGH) at Nordstrom rack over the summer and re-remembered it the other day; a good chambray piece feels so down-to-earth, and can be thrown on with ease when you’re in a rush. Also: how pretty is the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines?! It was such a sight for sore eyes after that Seattle cold. I’m always up to experience different climates, but I’ve accepted that I am a complete and utter summer girl at heart. How did you guys spend your New Year’s Eve?!
Thanks for stopping by!
